SYNOPSIS

Apurva and Malati are happily married and madly in love, unabashed by what people in their small-town think of it. When an unfortunate incident turns their life upside down, like in love, even in struggles, they refuse to conform to societal norms.

HIGHLIGHTS

Rima Das unveiled her upcoming film Malati, My Love at the Busan International Film Festival‘s Asian Project Market 2023.
Malati, My Love won the MPA APSA Film Fund 2023 supported by The Motion Picture Association (MPA) and Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) Academy.
In February 2024, Fran Borgia Producer Akanga Films came aboard Malati, My Love. He is known for his film Tiger Stripes that won Critics' Week Grand Prize at Cannes 2023.

DIRECTOR'S NOTE

As a filmmaker, I aspire to explore diverse narratives and storytelling techniques. Recently, I’ve been contemplating delving into the realm of love stories. “Malati, My Love” represents a tale of profound love and yearning. In contrast to my prior films, characterized by rawness, this project aims for a more intentional and designed approach. I aim to craft atmospheres that intricately unravel emotions.
